Worth The Hype Wednesday (WTH Wednesday Post 2) Beauty Blender

Hi Everyone!
Happy February!
For this months worth the hype Wednesday I reviewed the very popular Beauty Blender!

I purchased the beauty blender on Amazon for $15.40 and also purchased the dupe version through amazon for $3.22

This is the beauty blender and the dupe version (sorry its dirty and was impossible to clean)

Here is the beauty blender and the dupe when wet

Right off the bat I noticed that the beauty blender was made of a material that was much softer than its dupe version. I also noticed that during application the beauty blender did not absorb foundation into the sponge as much as its dupe version did. However application onto its face was more or less the same!  The dupe version was also much harder to clean compared to the beauty blender. As you can see after one application the dupe looks disgusting while the beauty blender looks practically new!

I honestly did not see what all the hype was about regarding this sponge. Although the dupe version was much cheaper I didn't really like it either. I felt as though application took a lot longer than necessary and I didn't get the "air brushed look" people were raving about. I would much rather use the beauty blender to blend out concealer under my eyes. Compared to a brush the sponge did a much better job concealing and felt so much softer since the under eye area is so sensitive.

In conclusion I honestly think for the money you are going to spend on this sponge you're better off purchasing the Royal Care Cosmetics kabuki brush set (4 brushes) for $19. The kabuki face brush does a great job applying foundation (its comparable to the Sigma F80) and the other 3 brushes (concealer brush, contour brush, and powder brush).
